Method
The estimate follows the current book structure
Every book has a front cover and back cover. A non-empty book also has one contents page. Each story or dedication uses one page, each named chapter adds one divider, and each recipe uses one page.
The result mirrors the page model used by forever.recipes today. It is not a quote from a printer: paper stock, binding, imposed signatures, and inserted blanks depend on the printer you choose.
Worked example
Thirty recipes in five named chapters, with two story pages, make 40 PDF pages: one cover, one contents page, two stories, five chapter dividers, thirty recipes, and one back cover.

Does the calculator upload my recipe count?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Analytics record only that a calculation happened, never the numbers you enter.
Does one recipe always fit on one printed sheet?
One recipe is one PDF page in the current layout. A physical sheet can carry two pages when printed double-sided, but a printer may add blanks or arrange pages differently for binding.
